If you're going to take the time, effort and expense of having a custom site then you can't afford to ignore the content. Powerful web content and targeted web copy can compel your online visitors to become paying customers - and that's what we want, after all.
At Sauced Out we offer two ways of getting great web content, in conjunction with our partners at Lion Writing. You can either choose to develop your own web content, using the DIY web content guide or have your web content written/rewritten for you by a professional web copywriter by signing up for our copywriting package.
First, you will need a domain name and hosting (if you're not sure what these are, then read our quick guide to getting online) or provide us with access to your existing hosting.
We'll ask you to send us your logo (if you have one), any promotional material you already have such as brochures and flyers, colours that you want to use and the text for the pages (if you don't have text then we suggest you take a look at our copywriting info).
We will use your images and info as well as any stock images to design a site mockup in Photoshop. At the same time we'll set up your software and use a site map to put up a draft site. Then we'll ask for your feedback and work together to get the look and feel right for you.
Once we have sign-off on the design we'll convert it into a functional website and put in any features you have requested such as social media links, YouTube videos, Google maps etc.
Next comes the important part - the text. There's no point in having a good looking site if you don't have anything to say! We'll add in the text and style it up to look great.
Behind the scenes we will set up your Google Analytics so you can receive statistics on who is visiting your site as well as setting up your contact and quote forms so you can receive inquiries from prospective clients.
Once we have your sign-off we'll hand over the site and send you your passwords and links to our video tutorials so you can work on your site yourself (although if you're pressed for time you can always get us to maintain your site for you).
As soon as we have access to your hosting we'll put up a holding page with your contact details and logo. If we are redeveloping an existing site then we will put the new site up in the background so that only you can see it until it's launched.
If we have all your text and images, contact info, access to your domain name and web hosting panels (or we are arranging these for you) and space in our schedule then we could have a custom site up and running within 4 weeks. However, a more realistic timeframe which allows time for feedback, testing and changes is between 6-8 weeks, longer if you don't get back to us with feedback immediately.
If you want your site up ASAP then make sure to clear space in your schedule to work on the site.
There are ways that we can work with you to lower or distribute the cost such as getting you to add content yourself or setting up a payment plan. Alternatively, you might want to consider a simple site and have the cost credited to your account if you upgrade with the next 12 months. Feel free to discuss this with you when we quote on the work.
